EnCalcE calculates the cost of purchasing and running electrical appliances, allowing 2 alternative items to be compared under the same or different running conditions. It also calculates the amount of electricity used, how much CO2 is generated and allows for inflation. The results can be saved to a log file for later analysis. EnCalcE is part of the JSutils group of software utilities which have a theme of energy conservation.
Variables such as operating life, purchase cost and power (including variable and continuous standby power) can be independently varied for 2 items for specified payback times, hours of use and electricity cost to work out the true total running cost of items. EnCalcE can cope with different charging rates for electricity at different times of the day and variable rates of annual inflation. Requires a registration code (free for personal non commercial use).

The lower limits for item 1 and item 2 on power have been reduced to 0.1 watts to allow for very low power appliances. There are also minor changes made to the installer properties.
